ALL DESIGN WORK DONE WHILE WORKING AT LAUNCH DIGITAL MARKETING/DEALER INSPIRE.

TravelAble is a premier online travel agency with a focus on designing vacation experiences without limits. With our accessible travel agency, we open the door to what’s possible, helping you plan the vacation of your dreams.

ROLE/RESPONIBILITIES

In the LDM team, I served as a graphic designer responsible for creating visual mockups for TraveAble. I collaborated with clients, project managers, and developers. I handled the unique “sketch” photo visuals featured heavily on the site and designed the TravelAble’s brand book alongside our design lead.

CHALLENGE/PROBLEM

One of the big challenges was to create a unique visual style consisting of an image/photograph “coming to life from a drawing” aligning with TravelAbles aim to create “handcrafted” vacations.

GOALS/OBJECTIVE

Our objective was twofold: firstly, to craft a visually captivating website that effectively communicates the allure of the "hand-designed vacation" concept through compelling imagery; secondly, to ensure the site's accessibility, making it easy for users to plan their trips seamlessly within the TravelAble network.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Families that have children or members with special accessibility needs, partners looking to collaborate and join the TravelAble network of vendors, and media organizations looking to feature TravelAble.

Brand Development

Alongside our design lead, I was also responsible for the creation of a comprehensive brand book, meticulously capturing the essential components that shape the visual identity of the brand. This encompassed detailed guidelines on logo usage, encompassing its various iterations, placement, and sizing across diverse applications. The brand book also delved into the intricacies of the color palette, specifying primary and secondary colors. Additionally, the brand book elucidated the iconography strategy, defining the style, purpose, and appropriate usage of icons, ensuring consistent representation throughout the brand's communication materials.

“Hand-drawn” Photos

The client's directive was to visually embody the concept of a "handcrafted" vacation, achieved by merging travel photography with a distinctive design approach: creating a split effect where one half of each photo appears as a sketch, while the other half resembles a drawing. To manage costs effectively, I leveraged Photoshop's capabilities to achieve this effect without the need for manual drawing. Through a combination of specialized actions and skillful compositing, I successfully brought the client's vision to life. This captivating effect now prominently features on the website, effectively showcasing the essence of the "handcrafted" vacation concept to visitors.
